Job Title: Interim Summer Day Camp Assistant Program Director

FLSA Status: Full Time - non-exempt/Temporary
Reports to: Operations Director

Rate of Pay: $20.55/hr

Benefits
  • Sick leave benefit – 1 day per month, 12 sick days per year (accrual and availability begins at hire; sick time accrual is pro-rated for part-time hours.)
  • Vacation benefit – 10 vacation days per year, accrued at the rate of .0385 hours for each hour worked, excluding overtime (accrual begins at hire but may not be used until the completion of six months of employment; vacation accrual is pro-rated for part-time hours.)

Function

The Interim Red Shield Program Director's main job function is developing and implementing programming for the Red Shield, including programming for after school center and summer day camp. The Interim Red Shield Program Director will keep up with all paperwork and required administrative work and ensure compliance with state licensure.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Plan, lead, and direct the afterschool and summer programming, assisting with supervision, guidance, and caring for children in an educational, enrichment, and recreational setting.
  • Provide leadership support to Corps ministry components integrated into the afterschool and summer program.
  • Provide encouraging instruction to students during group activities.
  • Support the Asst. Red Shield Director or the Program Leaders in planning and teaching lessons, homework support, and activities.
  • Work with the kitchen to ensure food service is taken care of for all events and daily needs.
  • Develop partnerships with parents and responsive relationships with children.
  • Assist in maintaining discipline and encouraging all children to follow rules.
  • Assist in general set up and cleanup of program area and with the opening/closing of the facility.
  • Supervise activities led by Red Shield staff to ensure quality of service.
  • Oversee the supervision of all children and ensure Program Leaders are supervising children as required.
  • Ensure each child is accounted for at all times.
  • Maintain a safe environment.
  • Submit reports as needed.
  • Keep all staff's state licensing records up to date and onboarded accurately.
  • Ensure all Red Shield staff are up to date on their PTM training and onboarding.
  • Oversee the Red Shield monthly financials.
  • Attend mandatory Staff Trainings and meetings.
Education, Experience, Skills, Qualifications
  • Able to establish and cultivate healthy relationships with children and parents.

  • Must be at least 21 years of age and possess a valid in-state Driver's License.
