Job summary

Go Fractional in Houston, TX is seeking a Staff Accountant to join the Capital Assets team on a contract-to-hire basis. The role supports the financial integrity of the Fixed Asset System and related expense accounts, demanding strong accounting skills and sound judgment.

The Staff Accountant will collaborate across departments to review requisitions, manage transfers and disposals, and assist with ongoing cross-training and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field with a minimum 24 hours in accounting.
• Minimum of 1 year of professional accounting experience.
• Governmental accounting exposure preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review and approve daily requisitions per procedures and update as necessary.
• Clarify and adjust requisitions with departments as needed.
• Process transfers approved by Commissioner's Court from Purchasing or other departments.
• Add Road Log dedication entries after Commissioner's Court approval; assist Road Log Group with issues.
• Process disposals from Purchasing after Commissioner's Court approval and other departments when requested.
• Assist team members with duties and research as needed.
• Other duties as required.

About the Role

The Capital Asset Department is responsible for ensuring the financial integrity of the Fixed Asset System and the Financial Statements as they relate to capital assets and related expense accounts. The Staff Accountant performs accounting assignments, utilizing a high level of accounting skills and a high level of professional judgement. You'll join a small, collaborative team that values learning, consistency, and mutual support.

This is a Contract-to-Hire position, with the intent to convert to full-time based on performance and business needs.

Key Responsibilities

Reporting to the Manager, Capital Assets, the Staff Accountant, Capital Assets will:

• Review and approve the daily requisitions per the procedures and update as necessary.
• Communicate with departments for clarification and adjustments on requisitions if necessary.
• Complete Commissioner's Court approved transfers from Purchasing or other departments as needed.
• Add new Road Log dedication entries after the Commissioner's Court approval. Assist Road Log Group with any issues should they arise.
• Process disposals received from Purchasing after the Commissioner's Court approval and other departments when requested.
• Assist team members with any duties and research as needed.
• Other duties as required.

Essential Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field with a minimum 24 hours in accounting
• Minimum of 1 year of professional accounting experience
• Governmental accounting exposure preferred
