Job summary

Unity Hospital in Rochester, NY seeks an experienced RN House Supervisor to provide hospital-wide clinical leadership and operational oversight across 14 medical-surgical units, a 20-bed ICU, and multiple departments.

You will coordinate patient flow, bed placement, staffing, and respond to rapid responses, codes, and emergencies. The role supports nursing teams, risk management, and regulatory compliance to ensure patient safety.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide hospital-wide nursing supervision and operational leadership across all departments.

• Respond to rapid responses, codes, clinical emergencies, and critical incidents.
• Serve as a clinical resource for nursing staff, charge nurses, and department leadership.
• Manage crisis situations, patient escalations, workplace safety concerns, and behavioral emergencies.
• Oversee staffing productivity, resource allocation, and compliance with staffing standards.
• Support incident reporting, risk management, sentinel event monitoring, and regulatory compliance.
• Manage sensitive situations involving patient deaths, AMA discharges, restraints, and narcotic diversion.
• Coach and support nursing teams to maintain clinical performance and patient safety standards.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, infection prevention protocols, and DPH, TJC, and OSHA requirements.

Position Overview

LeaderStat is seeking an experienced RN House Supervisor to provide hospital-wide clinical leadership and operational oversight at a 311+ bed acute care facility. This position is responsible for ensuring safe, high-quality patient care, coordinating staffing and bed management, responding to emergencies, and supporting nursing teams across multiple departments.

The ideal candidate is a strong clinical leader with experience in acute care operations, crisis management, staffing coordination, and hospital-wide supervision.

Hospital Overview

• Emergency Department and Family Birthplace
• Surgical Services
• 14 Medical-Surgical Units
• 20-bed Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
• Centralized staffing office with dedicated staffing coordinators
• Additional off-shift nursing management support
• ICU charge nurses and providers serve as the Rapid Response and Code Teams, with House Supervisor support

• Demonstrated ability to manage codes, emergencies, staffing challenges, and complex clinical situations
• Strong communication, conflict resolution, de-escalation, and leadership skills
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance, patient safety, and hospital operations
