Job summary

Legalpeople, a fast-growing consumer finance company, is seeking a temporary Litigation Paralegal to support its in-house legal team. The role involves triaging assignments with a Workflow Lead, keeping deadlines, and guiding matters from intake to resolution.

This position is 40 hours per week and remote for 4-5 months. You will review borrower complaints, organize files, prepare summaries and timelines, track deadlines, and assist attorneys with responses and demand letters.

Qualifications

• Paralegal experience in consumer finance, consumer protection, claims, insurance defense, or related litigation support.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage high volume of files.
• Clear written and verbal communication with close attention to detail.
• Experience with case management systems and reviewing substantial documentation.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with attorneys and claims professionals.

Responsibilities

• Organize claim files, preparing factual summaries and timelines, and maintaining accurate records.
• Tracking deadlines, outstanding requests, and matter status.

• Coordinating communications with borrowers, borrower counsel, and internal teams under attorney supervision.
• Supporting claims triage, follow-up, and documentation of resolutions.

Requirements:

• Paralegal experience in consumer finance, consumer protection, claims, insurance defense, litigation support, or a related practice area
• Strong organizational skills and experience managing a high volume of active files
• Clear written and verbal communication skills and close attention to detail
• Comfort working with case management systems and reviewing substantial documentation
• A practical, proactive approach and the ability to work independently while collaborating with attorneys and claims professionals
• Paralegal certificate and/or Bachelor's Degree preferred
• Experience with loan servicing, collections, or borrower disputes is a plus.
