Job summary

Major, Lindsey & Africa’s Interim Legal Talent group seeks an Interim Litigation Counsel to manage a large asbestos and toxic tort docket remotely across the United States. You will work with internal stakeholders and outside counsel to drive case strategy, evidence collection, and reporting while maintaining matter organization.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree and active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• Substantive experience handling asbestos and toxic tort litigation; complex/toxic hazard matters preferred.
• Demonstrated experience independently managing a large litigation docket, including deadlines and reporting.
• Personal injury litigation experience, including fact development and evidence collection.
• Experience partnering with internal business teams to identify, preserve, and collect evidence.
• Construction, engineering, or related industry experience is helpful but not required; law firm candidates considered.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of and independently manage a large asbestos and toxic tort litigation docket.
• Establish and maintain organized matter-management practices, including deadlines, case status, outside counsel communications, and internal reporting.
• Provide hands‑on support for personal injury matters, including case strategy, factual development, evidence collection, and coordination with internal stakeholders.
• Work with business partners to identify, preserve, and locate relevant records and other evidence.
• Coordinate a high volume of litigation‑related communications with internal teams, outside counsel, and other parties.
• Work independently in a remote environment and travel on a limited basis as matters require.

Significant litigation experience, including substantive asbestos and toxic tort matters

Location:

Fully remote; candidates may be located anywhere in the United States. Limited travel may be required.

• Experience partnering with internal business teams to identify, preserve, and collect evidence in response to litigation needs.
• Construction, engineering, or related industry experience is helpful but not required; qualified candidates coming directly from a law firm will be considered.

Pay rate:

$110

Individual compensation offered for this position within the pay range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job‑related factors.
