Job summary

Specialty Medical Staffing is hiring an Interim Director of Pharmacy / Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) / Pharmacy Consultant for an acute care hospital in the Fort Myers, FL area. This leadership role oversees pharmacy operations, accreditation readiness, and clinical services to support safe, compliant patient care.

Schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30/5:00 PM. Start date is August 31 (or ASAP). This assignment will continue until a permanent Director of Pharmacy is hired.

Qualifications

Minimum 3 years of hospital pharmacy management experience.
Recent inpatient hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
IV/sterile compounding knowledge required.

Responsibilities

Serve as Interim Director of Pharmacy, PIC, and Pharmacy Consultant.
Provide pharmacy leadership and operational oversight.
Assist with accreditation readiness and Joint Commission surveys.
Oversee pharmacy policies, procedures, and regulatory compliance.
Support CPA initiatives and 340B program oversight.
Provide limited pharmacist staffing support as needed.
Collaborate with staff and hospital leadership to ensure safe operations.
Support sterile compounding services as needed.
