Job summary

Denver Christian Schools seeks a Christ-centered Interim Theatre Director to guide high school theatre after school, directing three main stage productions yearly (Fall Play, Student Directed Scenes, Spring Musical) and mentoring students toward stronger performances that honor God.

The ideal candidate collaborates with the Performing Arts Director, recruits participants, manages a production budget, coordinates auditions and rehearsals, and weaves faith into every session.

Qualifications

• Valid Colorado Teaching Certificate in Musical Theatre or Theatre (preferred).
• 3–5 years of directing experience.
• Demonstrates expertise in knowledge and teaching of dramatics.
• Any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides required knowledge, skills and abilities.

Responsibilities

• Promote the theatre program and develop recruitment/outreach with the Performing Arts Director.
• Help run the high school drama club and International Thespian Society chapter.
• Communicate with students and parents about schedules and expectations.
• Contribute to Performing Arts Handbook and ensure eligibility and safety.
• Direct plays, with approval from Performing Arts Director and principal, securing venues.
