Base pay range

$45.00/hr - $55.00/hr

We are seeking a mid-career experienced Interim HR Business Partner to provide HR support and guidance to our client’s organization during a temporary transition period. This role requires an HR generalist background with fed/state compliance subject matter expertise, employee relations and process improvement experience in retail, industrial, or distribution environments.

The ideal candidate will be based in or near Burbank, CA and available for onsite engagement during the initial ramp-up, with a hybrid work arrangement thereafter, up to 3 days onsite per week with flexible start times to accommodate commutes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a generalist HR business partner, providing guidance and support to managers and employees on a variety of HR-related matters
  • Collaborate with management to deliver exceptional HR service to help meet business objectives
  • Manage employee relations, including investigating and resolving workplace issues
  • Support organizational development initiatives such as training, team building, and change management
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures
  • Maintain compliance with Federal and California labor laws and internal practices, particularly in a corporate, retail and distribution type environments
  • Work hours are Mon through Friday, 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week
  • Interim role is for 3 months or longer
  • Pay rate is $45 - $55 per hour

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as an HR Business Partner or Generalist, preferably in a retail, warehouse, or distribution environment
  • Demonstrated expertise in employee relations, organizational development, and compensation management
  • Strong consulting and problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate complex HR situations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to build trust and credibility across all levels of the organization
  • Proficiency in Federal and California labor laws and policies
  • Ability to work onsite in Burbank, CA during onboarding and on a regular hybrid schedule

Please note: This is a 1099 independent contractor role. Candidates must be able to operate as a self-employed consultant.
