Job summary

Go Fractional in Pensacola, FL seeks an Interim Executive Director to lead our nonprofit foundation on-site. This temporary six-month assignment reports to the Board and drives governance, grants, and operations during leadership transition.

The ideal candidate has significant senior leadership experience in nonprofit or related fields, strong board liaison skills, and proven ability to manage budgets, grants, and strategic initiatives.

Qualifications

• Significant senior leadership experience in nonprofit or related sectors.
• Experience with boards or senior executive leadership.
• Experience overseeing budgets, grants, or major projects.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent executive-level experience.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the foundation's senior executive and primary liaison to the Board; prepare clear reports, recommendations, meeting materials, and decision-support information.
• Carry out Board-approved priorities and help establish governance practices, policies, procedures, and organizational infrastructure, while maintaining a distinction between Board governance and executive administration.
• Build administrative processes, workflows, records, and internal controls; coordinate with legal, accounting, investment, tax, audit, technology, and other advisors.
• Implement the Board-approved grantmaking approach, including processes for applications, due diligence, review, recommendations, awards, monitoring, and reporting.
• Provide objective information on prospective grant opportunities and maintain appropriate records supporting grant decisions and foundation activities.
• Support responsible financial stewardship by helping administer budgets, monitoring spending and grant commitments, supporting financial reporting and audits, and providing timely information to the Board.
• Assess interim staffing and administrative needs; coordinate employees, consultants, and professional services as authorized by the Board.
• Represent the foundation with nonprofit organizations, healthcare and civic partners, professional advisors, and other stakeholders; support Board-approved communications and protect reputation.
