Job summary

Tobin & Associates is seeking an experienced Interim Director of Nursing (DON) for a skilled nursing facility in Hudson, Ohio. This hands-on leadership role requires guiding the nursing team through a transition while maintaining quality resident care.

The DON will oversee daily operations, ensure regulatory compliance, manage staffing, and support survey readiness. Ohio RN license required with prior DON experience in SNF/long-term care; interim leadership experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted RN license authorizing practice in Ohio.
• Previous Director of Nursing experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting.
• Strong knowledge of skilled nursing regulations, clinical operations, and survey processes.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
• Ability to adapt quickly, assess priorities, and provide effective interim leadership.
• Prior interim leadership experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily nursing operations and ensure safe, resident-centered care.
• Provide leadership, guidance, and support to nursing staff.
• Manage staffing and scheduling in collaboration with facility leadership.
• Monitor clinical practices, documentation, and regulatory compliance.
• Support survey readiness, quality improvement initiatives, and plans of correction as needed.
• Oversee infection prevention practices and address clinical concerns promptly.
• Collaborate with the Administrator and interdisciplinary team to support resident outcomes.
• Maintain clear communication with residents, families, staff, and leadership.
