Job summary

Preferred Professional Services (PPS) Agency in Maine is seeking a Director of Nursing for interim/agency roles in our long-term care and rehab facilities. You will provide strategic leadership to the nursing team, setting goals aligned with our mission and advancing care quality.

This role has 24-hour accountability for delivering high-quality, cost-effective care, guiding staffing, training, and interdisciplinary collaboration toward outstanding resident outcomes and staff satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Valid state RN nursing license.
  • Advanced degree or certification preferred.
  • Experience in a senior nursing leadership role in long-term care or similar setting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of nurses and healthcare professionals.
  • Develop and implement strategic initiatives to enhance nursing practices.

What You'll Do:

Interim DNS - Agency employee

As the Director of Nursing, you will provide strategic leadership to the nursing team, setting goals and objectives aligned with our mission. You will foster excellence and innovation in nursing care. Your leadership will shape the culture of our facility and drive the advancement of healthcare practice.

The Director of Nursing Services has 24‑hour accountability and is responsible for the delivery of high-quality and cost-effective health care at the center, while achieving positive clinical outcomes, and patient/resident and employee satisfaction.

What You'll Bring:

Qualifications of a Director of Nursing include:

  • Valid state RN nursing license
  • Advanced degree or certification preferred
  • Commitment to resident-centered care and excellence in healthcare delivery
  • Visionary mindset with a focus on innovation and quality improvement
  • Compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care
  • Interest in the nursing needs of the aged and the chronically ill with the ability to work with both
  • Strong clinical, leadership, organizational, and decision-making skills
