Job summary

Pomona College is seeking an Interim Director, Pomona Plan, to lead and support its flagship life-income program. You will provide expert gift planning, collaborate with investment and finance teams, and guide donors with high-touch, personalized service.

The role requires extensive knowledge of tax, estate, and financial planning, with 7–10 years in fundraising and a commitment to strategic growth in higher education philanthropy.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree or equivalent in tax, estate planning or financial planning.
• 7–10 years of professional fundraising experience at a major academic institution or related field.
• Pass the state bar exam if J.D. is presented.
• Experience with life-income gifts and donor planning.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day gift planning support for Pomona Plan.
• Support pipeline growth through technical expertise and strategic consultation.
• Advise on life-income proposals based on donors’ financial and tax circumstances.
• Execute operating plans and contribute to revenue/campaign forecasts.
• Collaborate with Finance, Investments, General Counsel, and Advancement Services to ensure compliance and accuracy.
• Provide tax guidance and support on life-income agreements and donor communications.
