Job summary

E78 Talent is seeking an experienced Interim Controller to support a private equity-backed organization in Denver. You will lead day-to-day accounting, manage the close process and provide project-based financial leadership across construction-oriented engagements.

The role requires strong PoC / project accounting expertise, hands-on leadership, and the ability to partner with operations to improve margins and reporting during the interim engagement.

Qualifications

• Controller or senior-level accounting leadership experience.
• Strong percentage-of-completion, project accounting, or construction accounting experience.
• Experience within a project-based services environment.
• Strong understanding of revenue recognition, job costing and cost-to-complete accounting.
• Strong month-end close and financial reporting experience.
• Ability to operate effectively in a hands-on interim environment.
• Strong communication and operational partnership skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day accounting and controllership activities
• Oversee month-end close and financial reporting
• Manage accounting for project-based operations
• Ensure accurate revenue recognition and project accounting
• Oversee percentage-of-completion (POC) accounting
• Review project costs, margins, estimates and profitability
• Partner with operational leaders on project financial performance
• Maintain balance sheet reconciliations and accounting controls
• Identify and resolve accounting and reporting issues
• Support budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis as needed
• Assist with audit and other finance-related initiatives
• Provide hands-on leadership to the accounting team during the interim engagement
