Job summary

Vaco by Highspring is seeking a hands-on Interim Controller/CFO in Battle Creek, MI to lead day-to-day accounting during a growth phase.

The role requires overseeing month-end close, financial reporting, PE integration, and strategic analyses while coordinating with ownership and private equity stakeholders. Hybrid work arrangement offered. You will manage payroll with HR, ensure internal controls, and support budgeting, audits, and tax planning.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive accounting/finance leadership experience.
• Strong month-end close and financial reporting experience.
• Experience with private equity reporting and Board presentations.
• Acquisition/M&A integration experience strongly preferred.
• QuickBooks experience required.
• Strong Excel, analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Comfortable balancing strategic CFO-level responsibilities with hands-on accounting execution.

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and financial statement preparation.

Vaco is hiring for an Interim CFO/Controller opportunity in Battle Creek MI

Duration: 1 year contract

Schedule: Hybrid

Pay: $60-85.00/hr

Our client is seeking a hands-on Interim Controller/CFO to provide financial leadership during a period of growth and acquisition activity. This role will oversee day-to-day accounting while providing financial reporting, analysis, and strategic support to ownership and private equity stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and financial statement preparation.
