Job summary

Bradley County School District is seeking a dedicated Computer Lab Assistant to support classroom instruction and computer activities. Under supervision, you will aid students, reinforce reading, language arts, and math, and assist with assessments and classroom materials.

You will supervise non-instructional tasks such as lunch, bus, playground duties, and field trips, help with records, communicate with parents, and support inclusion of students with special needs.

Qualifications

• Must be Highly Qualified as defined by state standards.
• Must have taken or will take the Praxis Paraprofessionals test and achieve a passing score.
• Or 48 hours of college coursework or an Associate's Degree or higher.

Responsibilities

• Assists and guides students to reinforce reading, language arts, math, and computer instruction.
• Works with students individually and in small groups to reinforce learning and implement programs.
• Assists staff in administering and correcting classroom exercises, tests, and assessments.
• Assists with preparing instructional materials and reinforcing skills according to student needs.
• Helps with record-keeping to document student learning and performance.
• Supports classroom behavior management to keep a safe, orderly environment.
• Supervises non-instructional areas such as lunch, bus duty, playground, corridors, and study hall.
• Accompanies students on field trips for supervision.
• Assists with parent contact to foster involvement in education.
• Supports students with special needs to maximize inclusion and participation.
• Participates in IEP process and serves as resource for evaluation as needed.
• Assists students with daily living activities to maximize participation.
