Job summary

Big Spring ISD is seeking a Computer Lab Aide to assist students and teachers in the campus computer lab at Marcy Elementary. You will help with computers, printers, and instructional software, and support data entry and student progress tracking.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and a Texas instructional aide certificate, plus 2 years of experience with children. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Texas instructional aide certificate required.
• Knowledge of basic computer operations and skills.
• Ability to operate personal computer and educational software.
• Ability to work with students and teachers effectively.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• 2 years of experience working with children.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers and students in using computers, printers, and instructional software.
• Input data and maintain files on student progress and use of instructional programs.
• Maintain computer lab in a neat and orderly manner, including bulletin boards and displays.
• Perform computer backups on a regular basis and install software following instructions.
• Identify problems, troubleshoot routine issues, and arrange for maintenance and repair as needed.
• Supervise students during arrival and dismissal; manage student behavior in the lab.
• Assist with office and clerical duties; maintain confidentiality; participate in staff meetings and safety procedures.
