Position Description:

Interim Case Manager: Help Men Build a Real Plan for Life After Incarceration

180 Degrees believes every person deserves a real shot at a fresh start. Great River Landing serves adult men transitioning from incarceration and navigating community supervision — many carrying the weight of long-term system involvement, trauma, substance use, housing instability, and disrupted access to healthcare and employment. For many of these men, lasting change starts with a solid plan and someone who believes they can get there.

As the Interim Case Manager at Great River Landing you provide intensive, ongoing case management to residents living in a sober, supportive residential setting. From entry to exit, you’re the steady guide helping residents remain compliant with legal requirements, access community resources, and build a realistic plan for housing, income, and ongoing support. Using trauma-informed, person-centered, and accountability-based practices, you work alongside residents to reduce barriers, strengthen skills, and support long-term stability — all while maintaining safety, structure, and program expectations.

This work requires consistency, boundaries, empathy, and a strong belief in people’s capacity for change — and that’s exactly what you bring to every interaction.

What you’ll actually do:

  • Provide intensive, ongoing case management to residents throughout their time at 180 Degrees
  • Support residents in remaining compliant with court-ordered conditions and legal requirements
  • Help residents access community resources related to housing, employment, healthcare, and more
  • Build a realistic exit plan with each resident covering housing, income, and ongoing support
  • Apply trauma-informed, person-centered, and accountability-based practices to reduce barriers and strengthen skills
  • Maintain safety, structure, and program expectations while supporting long-term stability
  • Build consistent, trusting relationships with residents navigating stabilization and reentry

Why 180 Degrees:

  • Be part of a mission-driven program with a real track record of helping people successfully reenter their communities
  • Do work that’s hands-on and human — every plan you help build shapes someone’s next chapter
  • Gain real experience in reentry case management, trauma-informed care, and accountability-based practice
  • Make an impact you can see, one resident and one plan at a time

This role is for you if:
You believe people can change — and you know that real change happens through consistency, structure, and a genuine plan. You bring boundaries and empathy in equal measure, holding residents accountable while walking alongside them. You’re comfortable balancing structure with flexibility as each resident’s path unfolds. And you want work that’s real, human, and meaningful — every single day.

This is a full-time, interim position, 40 hours per week, onsite. No direct reports, but direct impact on every resident’s path forward. This position is expected to end December 31st, 2026.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, social services, psychology, criminal justice, or a related field and two years of case management experience related criminal justice or community re-entry; relevant work experience may be substituted in lieu of education on a year-for-year basis.
  • Two years of experience in the nonprofit sector required.
  • Valid driver’s license and insurance; dependable transportation for traveling to community partners and events; ability to drive Company vehicle without restrictions.
  • Ability to clear a Department of Human Services background screening.
  • Four years of related case management preferred.
  • Four years of experience in the nonprofit sector preferred.
  • Knowledge of community resources and other programs available to residents such as chemical dependency programs, mental health treatment, education programs, individual counseling, cognitive skills groups, and culturally specific services available in the community.
  • Performs effective time management and prioritization.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with residents, coworkers, law enforcement officials, probation officers, judges, and treatment providers.
  • Ability to work under stress and use discretion in making decisions.
  • Ability to advise and support individuals in crisis situations and make decisions that lead to de-escalation and resolution.
  • Ability to assess a person’s social, economic, emotional, mental health, and practical needs.
  • Working knowledge of applicable Minnesota statutes and rules governing residential and reentry programs, including Minnesota Rules Chapter 2960 and PREA standards, or the ability and willingness to learn and apply these requirements in daily practice, documentation, and resident interactions.
