Job summary

VENTEON & Harvard Resource Solutions are seeking a Contract Accounting Manager in Troy, MI. The role is a full-time, long-term contract with a hybrid work model after 4-6 weeks in the office and a pay rate of $40.00 to $50.00 per hour.

The candidate will manage accounting for multiple divisions, supervise 2-3 accountants, and ensure accurate month/quarter/year-end close, reporting, and reconciliations in a multi-currency environment. Strong Excel and ERP experience are required.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance roles.
• Thorough knowledge of U.S. GAAP and IFRS Accounting Standards.
• Experience with full cycle accounting.
• Prefer experience with complex accounting transactions, FX, Investments and understanding of multiple currency environments.
• Supervisory capability.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills. Experience with ERPs, SAP S4Hanna, HFM or One Stream is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide accounting and reporting for a portfolio of divisions within the Group; act as a financial liaison between divisional Accountants and corporate departments; supervise 2-3 Accountants.
• Maintain and execute consistent accounting policies, controls, and procedures across the group.
• Oversee month/quarter/year end close, reporting, and reconciliations; review journal entries and GL coding accuracy.
• Perform trial balance reviews for assigned divisions.
• Analyze and approve reconciliations for balance sheet and income statement accounts.
• Ensure integrity of financial systems, GL, and sub-ledgers.
• Oversee and perform complex GL postings and reconciliations for accurate reporting.
• Assist in preparing entries for investments and financing operations.
• Prepare monthly/quarterly/yearly variance analysis across divisions and currencies.
• Complete and manage tax accounting transactions affecting multiple divisions.

Duties of the Accounting Manager:

• Provide accounting and reporting for a portfolio of divisions within the Group. Act as a financial liaison between divisional Accountants, Controller Corporate North America and other Corporate Departments. Provide supervision for 2-3 Accountants.
• Maintain and execute consistent accounting policies, controls, and procedures, adhering to company-wide policies and procedures.
• Provide Financial oversight by managing the Month/Quarterly/Year End close process, reporting, and account reconciliations in a timely manner. Review and approve journal entries, monitor and control GL coding accuracy.
• Trial balance review of the assigned divisions.
• Analyze and approve account reconciliations for all balance sheet and key income statement accounts.
• Ensure integrity of financial system, general ledger, and sub ledgers.
• Oversee and perform complex GL postings and reconciliations to ensure accuracy on financial reporting and to assist in identifying and correcting any reconciling or unusual items.
• Assist in preparing entries for the group s investments and financing operations such as external investments, revaluations/adjustments.
• Prepare Monthly/Quarterly/Yearly variance analysis on multiple divisions with multiple currencies.
• Complete and Manage tax accounting transactions that affect multiple divisions.
