Job summary

Murfreesboro City Schools is seeking a qualified Teacher to join our School Personnel team. The position requires a Tennessee teaching license with endorsements appropriate to the grade level or specialty area for pre-school through sixth grade.

The teacher must work cooperatively with students and adults; manage student behavior; protect confidentiality; support child safety and good self-esteem; communicate effectively; and maintain punctual attendance.

Qualifications

• Holds Tennessee teaching license with appropriate endorsements for services to children pre-school through sixth grade or specialty area endorsement appropriate to the position sought.
• Must be able to communicate effectively and manage student behavior in a classroom setting.
• Punctual and consistent in attendance.
• Protect the confidentiality rights of parents and children; support child safety and good self-esteem.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the successful operation of the total school and system program.
• Represent the system and the profession to parents and the community.
• Follow locally adopted curriculum guides for areas taught.
• Accommodate varied learning styles and developmental levels within the classroom.
• Manage behavior to maximize learning and the development of good self-esteem.
• Plan, prepare, teach, assess, adjust, re-teach, and re-assess to document student achievement.
• Participate in school and system activities and consult with parents, colleagues, and agencies.
