Anthropic offers a four-month fellowship. Fellows work with research teams, pairing deep domain expertise with Claude capabilities to evaluate, improve, and apply models in their field. The program provides mentorship, access to frontier models, and a cohort of peers to collaborate with.

The fellowship runs January 12 to May 8, 2027, is full-time, and includes orientation in San Francisco. Applicants should have a PhD in a relevant field or equivalent research experience and must be authorized

Qualifications

• Are excited about the potential for AI to reason well about hard questions in their field where expert judgment matters.
• Hands-on experience using Claude and Claude Code in your day-to-day workflow.
• Hold (or are completing) a PhD in philosophy, cognitive science, economics, policy or law, or have equivalent research experience.
• Are comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-agency atmosphere for a few months and delivering concrete results.
• Existing authorization to work in the United States for the duration of the program.

Responsabilités

• Identify key open problems in your field and use Claude to advance progress.
• Assess societal challenges where your field’s expertise matters and evaluate Claude’s strengths/weaknesses.
• Design evaluations and RL environments to test models in your field.
• Collaborate with Fellows to build environments that push Claude on challenging problems.
