Job summary

The Pembroke Center for Teaching and Research on Women invites applications for residential Postdoctoral Research Associate positions for 2027-2028. Fellows will conduct research related to the theme “Rethinking Transnational Feminisms: Political Economy, Geopolitics, and Feminist Solidarities Across Borders,” and will participate in weekly Pembroke Seminar, teach one undergraduate course, and pursue individual research.

Applicants must have a PhD and may not hold a tenured position.

Qualifications

  • PhD required for consideration.
  • Postdoctoral scholars with degrees from institutions other than Brown within the last five years are preferred.
  • Fellows are expected to be engaged with the research theme and participate in seminars.

Responsibilities

  • Participate weekly in the Pembroke Seminar.
  • Teach one undergraduate course during the appointment.
  • Pursue individual research in relation to the theme of the fellowship.

In 2027-2028, the Pembroke Center will award residential Postdoctoral Research Associate positions to scholars from any field whose research relates to the theme of "Rethinking Transnational Feminisms:Political Economy, Geopolitics, and Feminist Solidarities Across Borders." Fellows are required to participate weekly in the Pembroke Seminar, teach one undergraduate course, and pursue individual research.

Candidates are selected on the basis of their scholarly potential and the relevance of their work to the research theme. Recipients must have a PhD and may not hold a tenured position. Fellowships are awarded to postdoctoral scholars who have received their degrees from institutions other than Brown within the last five (5) years. Brown University is an EEO/AA employer. The term of appointment is July 1, 2027-June 30, 2028. Postdoctoral Research Associates are eligible to participate in the Brown University health and dental benefit plan.
