Interdiction Operations Trainer

The Opportunity:

As a Part Time on Call CACI Interdiction Operations Trainer (Counter Illicit Trafficking), you will support the US Africa Command (USAFRICOM) Counter Illicit Trafficking Branch efforts to enhance the effectiveness of select African Partner Nations’ National or Federal Counter Illicit Trafficking units through training course curriculum development, instruction, and training on subjects such as Border Interdiction and Enforcement, Airport Interdiction, Seaport Interdiction, and Surveillance Operations. Courses will typically last 1 or 2 weeks, with rotations to Africa lasting 2-5 weeks. Partner countries include Cabo Verde, Kenya, Mozambique, Senegal, and Tanzania.

Responsibilities:

  1. Operate as part of a 3-person team to develop courses and provide professional instruction to build capacity within African Partner Nation organizations.
  2. Focus on enforcement/interdiction training at borders, airports, and seaports, while supporting separate teams on financial investigations, document fraud, and cybercrime.
  3. Develop curriculum remotely using a Program of Instruction (POI) framework provided by USAFRICOM.
  4. Deliver in-country training through tailored instruction, hands-on exercises, and scenario-based practice.
  5. Collaborate with USAFRICOM to develop tailored SOPs and detailed training schedules aligned with partner availability.
  6. Lead hotwash sessions and After Action Reviews (AARs) to assess training effectiveness and identify improvements.
  7. Provide documentation for compliance activities, including storyboards, AARs, and personnel rosters.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of Federal Law Enforcement or Special Operations Forces experience in enforcement and interdiction operations.
  • Experience working with African Partner Nations.
  • Proven ability in curriculum development and training delivery for partner nations.
  • Certification in a recognized Methods of Instruction Course from a US Federal Law Enforcement or government agency.
  • Strong instructor skills with effective presentation abilities.
  • Ability to meet medical and physical requirements for deployment to Africa.

Desired:

  • Cross-functional expertise in the relevant areas.
  • Active Secret or higher security clearance.
  • Advanced degree.
  • Proficiency in French and/or Portuguese.

Pay Range: The proposed salary range is $74,600 - $156,700, influenced by location, experience, skills, and other factors. We offer comprehensive benefits including healthcare, wellness, retirement, family support, education, and time off. Learn more here.
