Job summary

Westinghouse Electric is seeking a Senior Interconnection Manager for an 11‑month contract (W‑2) based in Florida. The role oversees the full life cycle of generator interconnection projects within MISO and SPP, coordinating with ISO/RTOs, developers and utilities to ensure timely, compliant interconnections.

The ideal candidate will have a strong power systems background, experience with NERC reliability standards and interconnection studies, and a proven ability to communicate complex issues

About the Role

Senior Interconnection Manager (11‑month contract, W‑2) supporting Westinghouse Electric Company LLC through WECTEC Staffing Services. Responsible for overseeing the full life cycle of generator interconnection projects within the Mid‑Continent Independent System Operator (MISO) and Southwest Power Pool (SPP) regions.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage generator interconnection application process, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and timelines.
• Coordinate with partners, including ISO/RTOs, developers, and utility companies, to facilitate seamless interconnections.
• Develop and implement strategies to improve the generator interconnection process.
• Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and technological advancements to inform strategic planning.

Qualifications

• Power systems background with a deep understanding of transmission planning and NERC reliability standards.
• Experience with steady‑state thermal/voltage, short‑circuit, transient stability using industry analytical tools such as PSS/E, PSLF, PowerGEM TARA, TSAT, and ASPEN.
• Experience with the planning processes within RTOs/ISOs and Transmission Providers, especially relating to baseline reliability planning and generator interconnection studies.
• Coordinate with multiple internal and external SMEs to complete comprehensive documentation.
• Understanding of transmission policy and regulatory issues related to generator interconnection.
• Translate complex technical information to external team members and all levels of management.
• Provide solutions for technical transmission issues for development projects and current assets.
• Demonstrated experience and a working relationship with ISOs MISO and/or SPP, essential. This experience should be in a role related to generator or load interconnection agreements. Additionally, knowledge of utility and ISO interconnection study methodology, criteria, and business practices is required. Transmission planning with a focus on grid reliability is also necessary.
