Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 3+ years of interconnection engineering, transmission planning, power systems, or renewable energy development.
  • PSCAD experience is required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead generator interconnection activities for utility-scale energy projects.
  • Manage projects through the full interconnection lifecycle, from application through commercial operation.
  • Review and analyze feasibility, system impact, and facility studies.
  • Develop, review, and validate power system models using PSCAD.
  • Coordinate with utilities, transmission providers, ISOs/RTOs, and engineering consultants.
  • Evaluate transmission constraints, upgrade requirements, and grid-related project risks.
  • Support project development teams with interconnection strategy and technical due diligence.
  • Track interconnection queue status, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Provide technical guidance on transmission planning, grid reliability, and market considerations.
  • Support the negotiation and execution of interconnection agreements.

Interconnection Engineer

Remote (USA) | $120,000 - $150,000 Base + Bonus Visa Transfer Available

A growing developer and owner of utility-scale energy infrastructure projects is seeking an experienced Interconnection Engineer to support project development, transmission analysis, and grid integration efforts across the United States.

This position will play a key role in managing interconnection activities for renewable generation and energy storage assets, working closely with utilities, ISOs/RTOs, consultants, and internal stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities
  • Lead generator interconnection activities for utility-scale energy projects.
  • Manage projects through the full interconnection lifecycle, from application through commercial operation.
  • Review and analyze feasibility, system impact, and facility studies.
  • Develop, review, and validate power system models using PSCAD.
  • Coordinate with utilities, transmission providers, ISOs/RTOs, and engineering consultants.
  • Evaluate transmission constraints, upgrade requirements, and grid-related project risks.
  • Support project development teams with interconnection strategy and technical due diligence.
  • Track interconnection queue status, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Provide technical guidance on transmission planning, grid reliability, and market considerations.
  • Support the negotiation and execution of interconnection agreements.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • 3+ years of experience in interconnection engineering, transmission planning, power systems, or renewable energy development.
  • PSCAD experience is required.
  • Strong understanding of power system studies and generator interconnection processes.
  • Experience working with one or more ISOs/RTOs including ERCOT, PJM, MISO, SPP, CAISO, or NYISO.
  • Knowledge of transmission systems, grid integration, and utility-scale generation projects.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and project management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with utility-scale solar, wind, battery energy storage, or hybrid generation projects.
  • Familiarity with load flow, short-circuit, and dynamic stability studies.
  • Knowledge of NERC and FERC requirements.
  • PE license preferred but not required.
