Location: Billings, MT - Filling industrial

How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?

As the "face of Airgas," the Shuttle Driver is responsible for safely and efficiently transporting cylinder gases and hard goods to area branches and plant locations using a company-provided semi tractor-trailer. The Shuttle Driver loads, unloads, delivers, and returns cylinder gases and hard goods while frequently interacting with Airgas internal customers.

As a Shuttle Driver at Airgas, you will be part of a professional team that encourages internal mobility and offers a work/life balance. Most vehicles are under 6 years old and equipped with driver-friendly technology such as On Board Computers, collision avoidance technology, latest camera technology, and GPS navigation.

Position Title: INTERBRANCH SHUTTLE DRIVER

Location: Billings, MT

In particular, you will:
  1. Drive trucks with a capacity of more than 3 tons to transport materials to and from specified destinations.
  2. Deliver compressed gas cylinders, liquid cylinders, and hard-goods to other branch locations.
  3. Communicate in person with internal customers, providing information on ordering and delivery times.
  4. Maintain load manifests and vehicle documents, ensuring they are properly completed before and after deliveries.
  5. Accurately maintain records such as Department of Transportation Driver's Log and vehicle logs according to regulations.
  6. Pick up empty cylinders from branch locations and return them to the plant for refilling, following all regulations.
  7. Operate a forklift, pallet jack, or other warehouse equipment to load and unload trucks.
  8. Perform pre and post trip vehicle inspections, document deficiencies, and ensure equipment is in safe working order.
  9. Maintain telephone or radio contact with supervisor for delivery instructions.
  10. Read maps and follow geographic directions.
  11. May perform emergency roadside repairs.
  12. Comply with all company policies and DOT requirements.
  13. Assist with other drivers' duties as needed.
  14. Assist inside the retail branch, servicing customers at dock, front counter, and over the phone.
Are you a MATCH?
  • Class A CDL driver's license with Hazmat, Tanker, and Air Brake endorsements.
  • At least one year of experience driving a Class A Tractor Trailer under DOT requirements within the last 5 years.
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
  • Current Medical Examiner's Card.
  • Ability to read and understand safety data sheets.
  • Ability to lift 25-75 lbs routinely and more with equipment.
  • Must obtain forklift operator certification.
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure.
  • Ability to work occasional overtime.
Preferred Competencies:
  • Product knowledge of cryogenic, compressed, and specialty gases (preferred).
