Job description

We have a full-time opportunity for a BC/BE Intensivist to join our well-established Critical Care practice at Mercy Medical Center in Springfield, Massachusetts.

Position Details:

  • This position offers a daytime flexible block schedule.
  • Manage Critical Care patients in a busy ICU.
  • Create, direct, coordinate, and supervise patient care plans daily.
  • Conduct and order diagnostic tests, analyze results, and prescribe treatments and therapies.
  • Refer patients to specialists, social services, or other professionals as needed.
  • Work as part of an integrated team with care management, nursing, pharmacy, etc.
  • Assist in patient education and goal setting.
  • Participate in and adhere to all quality metrics and goals established by Adfinitas or the hospital.
  • Partner with and oversee Advanced Practice Providers.
  • Ensure accurate and timely billing for professional services.
  • Lead ACLS codes and Rapid Response evaluations.
  • Attend relevant committee, CQI, and management meetings.
  • Manage ventilators, complete central lines, and perform intubations.
  • Comply with departmental policies and procedures.
  • Maintain records, reports, and statistical data.
Requirements:
  • BE/BC in Critical Care Medicine.
  • Strong inpatient skills.
  • Quality-focused team player.
  • Experience working with advanced practice providers.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to function effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Active state license, American Heart Association CPR certification, DEA license, and state Controlled Substance Registration.
