Our standardized documentation across inpatient settings, created collaboratively by intensivist and hospitalist leaders, makes care transitions more informative, efficient, and easier to manage.

Wayne UNC is a modern facility with 316 acute care beds, with a 125-year history. The hospital features a 16-bed ICU (closed), an 8-bed Labor and Delivery Unit, a 26-bed Nursery, a 22-bed Behavioral Health Unit, and uses Epic EMR. The schedule is from 7am to 7pm, with nighttime coverage provided by a vICU provider.

Responsibilities

• Provide care for the critically ill patient population in the ICU departments.
• Improve outcomes, including reducing mortality and lengths of stay.
• Coordinate all necessary specialty care for patients.
• Communicate effectively with patients and families throughout the entire care process, including pre- and post-procedure.
• Maintain comprehensive records of patient care and procedures.

Requirements

• Graduated from an accredited MD or DO program.
• Board Certified in Pulmonology.
• Board Certified in Critical Care.
• Familiar with standard critical care concepts and procedures.
• Preferred: 2+ years of intensivist experience.
• New fellowship graduates in pulmonology/critical care are encouraged to apply.
