Penn State Health is seeking an experienced Physician Assistant for the Heart and Vascular Institute Critical Care Unit (HVICCU) in Hershey, PA. The 30-bed unit provides 24/7 coverage for cardiac surgery, vascular surgery, and interventional cardiology patients, including LVADs, ECMO, and transplants.

APPs manage complex therapies and participate in rounds, making medical plan revisions in collaboration with physicians and the care team.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an AMA approved Physician Assistant Program or bachelor’s or higher degree meeting state licensure requirements.
• National Certification and licensure reciprocity where applicable.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Responsabilités

• Direct critical care management in the HVICCU.
• Participate in daily rounds and revise medical management plans in collaboration with physicians and interdisciplinary teams.
• Perform procedures including arterial line placement, central line, Swan-Ganz catheter, IABP removal, chest tubes and pacing wires.
