Job summary

The Nashua School District is hiring a District Wide Special Education Paraeducator – Intensive Needs for Sunset Heights Elementary School, starting in the 2026-2027 school year. Under the direction of teachers, you will support IEP goals, assist with daily activities, and help foster independence in students.

Responsibilities include supporting instructional activities, assisting with testing, and collaborating with counselors, teachers, and administration.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• NH Title I Schools require Highly Qualified Status that would include either an Associate's Degree or two years of college, Bachelor degree or Paraeducator II certification from the NH Dept of Education.
• Placement based on prior experience.

Responsibilities

• Instructional Paraeducator: assists in implementing and reinforcing curriculum under the teacher's direction; helps prepare and administer testing; provides input to staff regarding student performance.
• Pre-School Paraeducator: assists with younger students, planning and implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum.
• Technical Paraeducator: assists with day-to-day program operations and supports students with assignments using provided materials and technology.
• District Wide Special Education Paraeducator: supports IEP goals and objectives, assists with behavioral development and health-related needs of children.
