Job description

Our Cuyahoga County team is looking for full time Intensive Home Based Treatment (IHBT) Therapists. IHBT is a high fidelity evidenced based treatment model designed to meet the needs of youth with serious mental health concerns that are at risk for out of home placement or are returning from placement. As a Therapist in this program you will provide IHBT services to children and their families in their home and communities where they reside. The goal of IHBT is to provide necessary mental health services to enable youth to remain with their family and avoid placement, while improving family functioning and needed skills to function in the least restrictive setting. As a therapist with our IHBT team you will be responsible for providing mental health assessments, crisis management, behavioral health therapy (both family and individual), and TBS services. Caseloads for this program average 6-7 clients for a period of 3 to 6 months.


Responsibilities Include:
  • Completing behavioral and mental health assessments to diagnose and determine appropriate level of care and current functioning.
  • Develop positive relationships and rapport with clients and their families, and providing them with support within their ecology as necessary.
  • Administer outcome measures to maintain fidelity to IHBT model, including formulating treatment and discharge plans with client and family.
  • Actively providing evidence-based individual and family counseling interventions, including cognitive behavioral therapy and skill building; crisis management for the youth and family.
  • Collaborate with external and intra-agency providers and all involved systems for the client such as school, juvenile court, etc.
  • Participate in weekly supervision, weekly team supervision and professional consultation on the IHBT model.
  • Actively serving as a liaison in coordinating/making referrals and arranging community resources for families to meet their needs, including follow up services as needed in order to maintain their progress.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or Marriage and Family Therapy.
  • Minimum Valid Ohio LSW, LPC, MFT is required.
  • Experience working with children, youth and families.
  • You must have the ability to travel to families and have reliable transportation.
  • Ability to work flexible hours to meet the needs of clients and their families.
  • Must have evening availability and on call availability 24/7 with rotating weekends.
