Job Responsibilities

The Intensive Home-Based Therapist is responsible for coordinating and providing behavioral and mental health services and support to assigned clients and families or caregivers. This position involves working in the home, community, and school settings, primarily with children up to age 17 in Tuscarawas or Carroll counties.

The Therapist works under the supervision of the Clinical Supervisor and is responsible for providing diagnostic assessments, treatment planning, therapy, counseling, and support services for a diverse caseload including adults, adolescents, and families. Services may be provided via telehealth, outpatient offices, and/or community-based settings.

Education/Certification/Licensure:
  • LSW, LPC, MFT license and related educational requirement
  • Bachelor’s degree from a relevant accredited program; or
  • Master’s Degree from a relevant accredited program
Essential Functions:
  • Provide individual, family, and group counseling and psychotherapy to assigned caseload.
  • Complete documented evidence-based Treatment Plans and progress notes.
  • Develop and maintain therapeutic relationships with clients and families.
  • Respond to mental health emergencies in a culturally responsive manner.
  • Identify appropriate interventions for clients in crisis.
  • Provide Community Psychiatric Supports and Treatment (CPST), SUD Targeted Case Management, and Therapeutic Behavioral Services (TBS).
  • Serve as a liaison to coordinate and refer clients to appropriate community resources.
  • Participate in treatment conferences and maintain contact with other professionals.
  • Document and maintain client interactions per agency guidelines.
  • Attend and participate in regular supervision.
  • Maintain all required licenses.
  • Exhibit positivity, flexibility, and willingness to take on new responsibilities.
  • Demonstrate positive leadership and promote a team-based work environment.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Knowledge of human behavior and performance; individual differences; and psychological research methods.
  • Knowledge of principles and methods for diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of emotional and mental dysfunctions.
  • Knowledge of group behavior and societal trends.
  • Effective interpersonal skills with diverse populations.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Electronic Health Records and Microsoft Office Suite.
Performance/Physical Requirements:
  • Able to provide services in various settings, including client homes.
  • Work flexible hours, including days, evenings, and weekends.
  • Must have a valid Ohio Driver’s License with a safe driving record.
  • Ability to pass a physical exam and drug screening.
  • Employment is contingent upon a thorough background check.
  • Authorization to work legally in the United States.
