Traffic Control Devices, LLC is seeking an Intelligent Transportation Systems Senior Technician in Florida. The role involves installing and troubleshooting copper and fiber optic networks, CCTV, DMS, and vehicle detection systems, with on-site support for highway ITS devices.

Responsibilities include on-site repairs, basic network configuration, and collaboration with a technician to expand knowledge. A valid driver's license and ability to work outdoors in Florida are required.

Formación

• Minimum 3–5 years of ITS highway communication knowledge.
• Understanding IP addressing and basic LAN/WAN concepts (802.3/802.11).
• Familiarity with fiber optics, splice-loss and OTDR basics.
• Experience with CCTV, DMS and vehicle detection systems.
• Driver's license and willingness to travel as needed.

Responsabilidades

• Troubleshoot copper and fiber optic cables, repair and certify.
• Troubleshoot CCTV cameras and DMS components on site.
• Manage vehicle detection systems and related network devices.
• Assist on-site with other traffic and signalization tasks.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) Senior Technician

This position will require working with a technician to obtain knowledge on the installation and troubleshooting of transportation systems. The transportation systems will include: copper cabling, fiber optic cable backbones, cameras, CCTV, digital message signs, vehicle detection systems, L2 and L3 switches, LAN/WAN, specialty software packages, IP configurations, etc.

Prerequisite Requirements:

A minimum of 3-5 years of knowledge of ITS Highway Communication including:

• Local Area (LAN) & Wide Area Network (WAN) communications including, but not limited to, Internet Protocol (IP) addressing; 802.3 and 802.11 with an overall basic understanding of how networks function.
• CCTV: Closed Circuit Television basics and camera operations. Including Power-over-Ethernet (POE), Wireless and Cellular technology,
• DMS: Dynamic Message Sign - basic understanding of DMS operations and communication protocols.
• FIBER: Understanding of fiber optic principles including splice-loss, Singlemode vs multimode differences, OTDR, Fusion splicing and the different fiber connectors (ST, SC, LC, etc.)

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

• Copper cable troubleshooting, repair, or replacement & certification
• Fiber optic cable troubleshooting, repair, or replacement & certification
• CCTV camera troubleshooting, repairs, or replacement & activation
• Dynamic Message Sign troubleshooting, component repairs and replacement
• Vehicle detection systems (both radar and infrared)
• Other systems associated with highway ITS devices.
• Occasionally assist with other Traffic and Signalization tasks andon-site work duties.
• Perform reasonable additional duties and tasks determined by management.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be 18 years-of-age or older.
• A driver's license is required.
• Self-driven and willing to learn.
• Comfortable using a computer and internet
• Both "web based" and local Microsoft Office software.
• Computer Literacy
• Comfortable working outside in Florida, with the various weather conditions that entails.

Education & Experience:

• Extensive knowledge of electronics and networking preferred, but not required.
• Experience reading plans and specifications preferred.
• Network Adaptability, and/or Fiber connectivity a plus.

Pre-Screen:

• Upon offer, employees may be required to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, background and/or MVR check.

License & Certifications:

• A Driver's license is required.
• Certifications for the systems noted above are not required, but considered a plus.

Physical Requirements:

• RARE(less than 10%): climbing poles.
• OCCASIONAL(up to 33%): sitting, kneeling, crawling, climbing ladders, climbing stairs.
• FREQUENT(up to 66%): stooping, squatting, body-twisting, climbing on/off truck, gripping, reading, bucket truck operations with elevated heights of 70-feet.
• CONTINUOUS(up to 100%): manual dexterity, standing, walking, sense of touch, speaking clearly, seeing distant, lifting over 10 lbs. to 50 lbs., seeing, reaching, range of motion, hearing-speech range, depth perception, color vision, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, balancing, lifting up to 10 lbs., lifting up to 50 lbs.
• OTHER(sporadic)travel outside of the Houston METRO area, comfortable with elevated heights of 70-feet.
