Job summary

U.S. Army Intelligence and Security Command in Honolulu seeks a Geospatial Intelligence professional to analyze imagery and data from SAR, TIR, EO, OPIR and other sources to identify foreign installations and activity.

• Execute multiple concurrent research projects, to include automation nominations submitted by subordinate analysts to prepare Geospatial Intelligence products in accordance with national-level intelligence requirements.
• Perform quality control of all intelligence production for the accuracy and timeliness of various Geospatial Intelligence products and services for a variety of users.
• Provide input into development, implementation and maintenance of new processes, projects, policies, and toolsets of Army, Defense and Intelligence Community processing and exploitation programs that operationalize Geospatial Intelligence.

Conditions of employment

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
• Must be willing to undergo and successfully complete a counterintelligence‑scope polygraph examination with No Deception Indicated (NDI) on a pre‑appointment and periodic basis.
• All INSCOM employees may be subject to extended TDY or worldwide deployments during crisis situations to perform mission essential functions as determined by management.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance based on a T5 (or equivalent level) investigation with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
• Temporary Duty (TDY) travel may constitute up to 25% of time.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes:

• Oversight of multiple advanced sensor types (such as Synthetic Aperture RADAR (SAR), Thermal Infrared (TIR), Electro-Optical (EO), Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR),

• Managing multiple concurrent Requests for Information (RFIs) from different tactical and operational customers. And
• Implementing new toolsets and policies regarding the processing and exploitation programs that operationalize Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT) across broader Army or

• Briefing an intelligence or geospatial assessment to an operational customer or stakeholder group on non-routine problems and/or analytical inferences.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-12). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

Progressively responsible experience is that which has included intelligence‑related research, analysis, collections and /or operations. This experience should have included intelligence analysis and/or production, intelligence collection and/or operations, counterintelligence, or threat support directly related to the position to be filled. This experience should demonstrate: Knowledge of intelligence processes, cycle and organizations; Knowledge of and/or ability to use research tools such as library holdings, photographs, statistics, graphics and maps; Knowledge of the systems, procedures and methods of analyzing, compiling, reporting and disseminating intelligence data; and/or Knowledge of organization(s) for and methods of collecting and analyzing intelligence data.
