Job summary

James Madison University invites applications for a faculty position in our Bachelor’s Degree Program in Intelligence Analysis beginning in August 2027. The successful candidate will be appointed either at the rank of tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor, or at the rank of RTA Assistant/Associate Professor of Practice, depending on qualifications and experience.

The Intelligence Analysis Program is multidisciplinary, serving around 250 students, with national and international partnerships

Qualifications

• Excellence in teaching undergraduates and thoughtful improvement of undergraduate education for analysis.
• Professional mentoring of students aspiring to become analysts.
• Significant potential as a scholar with a strategic research agenda.
• Research focusing on the study and practice of analysis, including Intelligence Analysis.
• Collaboration to support and expand the scope of the IA Program and opportunities for students and faculty.

Responsibilities

• Teach three in-person courses per semester.
• Assist in curricular development to advance the teaching of analysis.
• Contribute to service and scholarship within the IA Program and School of Integrated Sciences.
