Husch Blackwell LLP is a national law firm with multiple locations across the United States, dedicated to our clients and the industries they serve.

We have an immediate opening for an Intellectual Property Senior Associate or Senior Counsel with a minimum of six years of experience preferred. We will consider candidates for any of our offices including our virtual office, The Link. The candidate will work primarily with attorneys in our Healthcare, Life Sciences & Education business unit.

The ideal candidate will be registered with the USPTO and hold a Ph.D. in Biotechnology, Biotechnology Engineering, or a related field of study. The ideal candidate will also have experience with one or more of the following: global patent prosecution and portfolio management, freedom to operate and patent clearance, licensing and other technology transactions, and due diligence related to merger and acquisitions.

The ideal candidate will have excellent academic credentials, a commitment to the community, superior interpersonal skills and a demonstrated record of working well under pressure. The candidate should demonstrate exceptional judgment, the ability to effectively handle multiple projects, and the ability to articulate legal strategies and courses of action. Candidates should have an active bar license in the state corresponding with the office to which they are applying or commit to obtaining one as soon as possible. Pursuant to applicable state laws, the compensation range for this position as an Associate in New York, Virginia, Vermont, and Washington, D.C. is $260,000-$340,000, in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Jersey, and Washington is $250,000-$340,000, in Illinois is $235,000-$320,000, and in Minnesota is $235,000-$300,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Salaries in all other markets will vary depending on market data. Associates are eligible for an Associate Performance Bonus and Client Development Bonus.

Pursuant to applicable state laws, the compensation range for this position as a Senior Counsel in New York, Virginia, Vermont, and Washington, D.C. is $155,000-$350,000, in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Jersey, and Washington is $170,000-$350,000, in Illinois is $180,000-$340,000, and in Minnesota is $180,000-$300,000, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Salaries in all other markets will vary depending on market data.
