Intellectual Property Paralegal - Docketing Specialist

We are seeking a seasoned Intellectual Property Paralegal specializing in Docketing for our rapidly growing law firm based in the Dallas area. This fully remote role is designed for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a dynamic, high-stakes environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing critical deadlines associated with patent prosecution processes and maintaining accurate reports on patent portfolios, supporting our firm's commitment to delivering meticulous legal services. This position requires a strong foundation in intellectual property law, excellent analytical abilities, and a commitment to excellence.

Salary: DOE per year

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Analyze documents from the USPTO to identify and manage critical deadlines.
  • Generate, maintain, and edit detailed reports within specialized databases.
  • Prioritize and handle multiple projects simultaneously to ensure timely completion.
  • Ensure strict confidentiality and privacy of client data as per firm and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with attorneys and other team members to ensure smooth workflow and compliance with legal procedures.
  • Engage in continuous learning to stay updated with changes in intellectual property law and docketing practices.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of intellectual property docketing experience in a law firm setting.
  • In-depth knowledge and understanding of the patent prosecution process acquired through at least 5 years of relevant experience.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office tools and specialized legal software.
  • Proven ability to meticulously organize and prioritize work without oversight.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Formal technical training in docketing software or legal database management.
  • Experience working in a remote team environment with minimal supervision.
  • Proven track record demonstrating resilience and flexibility in a fast-paced legal setting.
