Responsibilities

Orrick is seeking highly skilled and motivated associates with two to six years of experience to join our dynamicIntellectual Property Litigation practice, in any of our U.S. offices. The majority of our U.S. Intellectual Property team is based in our Southern California, Bay Area, and East Coast offices.

Qualified candidates will have two to six years of experience in intellectual property matters, including patent and/or trade secret. Candidates must have excellent research and writing skills, ability to work independently and possess strong advocacy ability. Strong academic credentials along with entrepreneurial drive, initiative, grit, and a strong work ethic are required. We value collegiality among our lawyers and seek to make the practice both professionally and personally rewarding. A bachelor's or higher degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent is preferred, though other degrees will be considered if paired with strong work experience.

Admission to the State Bar of your office location is required.

Qualifications
  • Two to six years experience
  • A bachelor's or higher degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent is preferred.
  • Candidates must be highly motivated and possess excellent academic credentials along with superior writing and communication skills.
  • Membership to the State Bar of the office of the state in which the candidate expects to be located is required.

Compensation and Benefits

The expected salary range for this position is between $235,000 and $390,000.

Orrick is committed to providing a comprehensive, competitive, and thoughtful total compensation package to our attorneys and staff, wherever they work. This compensation and benefits information is based on the Orrick's estimate as of the date of publication and may be modified in the future. The level of pay within the range will depend on a variety of job-related factors that may include, but not limited to, qualifications, relevant experience or education, particular skills or expertise, geography. Other compensation may include an annual discretionary merit bonus, which would be determined by Firm and individual performance.
