Job summary

Armstrong Teasdale LLP is seeking an experienced IP Associate with patent preparation and prosecution expertise to join its Intellectual Property Group. The candidate will assist with patent applications, patentability opinions, and patent estate management across Mechanical Engineering and Physics.

Associates will learn from highly experienced practitioners in a friendly environment while maintaining high ethical standards and client service. JD required and USPTO registration preferred.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor degree required.
• Licensed to practice law in at least one jurisdiction and USPTO registration.
• 3+ years’ experience as a licensed attorney at a law firm.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and prosecute patent applications in Mechanical Engineering/Physics.
• Provide patentability and clearance opinions.

Armstrong Teasdale LLP is seeking an experiencedIP Associatewith patent preparation and prosecution expertise to join its Intellectual Property Group. The ideal candidate will possess patent preparation and prosecution experience inMechanical Engineering,Physics, or a related technical field. The candidate will assist with the preparation and prosecution of patent applications, patentability and clearance opinions, patent estate management, licensing and enforcement of patents for a diverse clientele.

• Simultaneously handles the high-level and strategic aspects of multiple legal matters at different stages of progression, from inception to conclusion
• Possess strong attention to detail and good interpersonal skills for communicating with attorneys and clients

Required Education:Juris Doctor

Preferred Education:

Bachelors or advanced degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Physics, Engineering Mechanics, Mechatronics Engineering, Materials Science & Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, or Engineering.

Required Licenses and/or Certifications:Licensed to practice law in good standing in one or more jurisdictions where the Firm conducts business; Must maintain applicable license renewal and CLE requirements; Registered to practice before the USPTO

Preferred Experience:3+ years’ experience as a licensed attorney at a law firm

Supervisory Responsibilities:Indirect - actively utilizes support staff, patent agents, or junior associates to ensure client satisfaction

Travel Required:Less than 10%

Salary Range:Ranges are fluid depending on experience, areas of expertise, licenses, etc.

• Denver range: $205,000-$250,000
• New York range: $215,000-$260,000
• Chicago range: $215,000-$260,000
• Washington DC range:$215,000-$260,000
