Intellectual Property Advisor (Mandarin-Speaking – China Focused)

That Good Good is a biotech and biochem R&D company revolutionizing hair removal and post-removal care for melanin-rich skin. Our formulas are science-backed, vulva-safe, and designed for 3a–4c hair textures. As we expand internationally, we’re looking for a trusted IP advisor to help protect our innovations in China and beyond.

Role Overview:

We’re seeking an experienced Intellectual Property Advisor fluent in Mandarin and English to support our international trademark strategy, specifically in China. This person will advise on IP filings, brand protection, counterfeiting prevention, and cross-border legal compliance.

Responsibilities:

1. Advise on trademark and IP strategy in China (Class 3, cosmetics)
2. Translate brand/product names and categories for CNIPA filings
3. Liaise with Chinese law firms or agents to manage trademark registrations
4. Review and localize NDAs, licensing agreements, and IP clauses
5. Monitor and advise on counterfeit risks or trademark squatters in China
6. Help draft and file necessary IP documentation or partner with Chinese counsel
7. Advise on manufacturing protections to secure formulas and packaging IP

Qualifications:

1. Fluent in Mandarin (Simplified Chinese) and English
2. Deep knowledge of trademark law and IP enforcement in China
3. Experience with CNIPA filings and working with China-based brands or manufacturers
4. Legal or paralegal background strongly preferred
5. Comfortable working in an advisory/startup environment

Nice to Have:

1. Experience in cosmetics, biotech, or consumer goods
2. Familiarity with the Madrid Protocol and international IP processes
3. Strong communication and cross-cultural collaboration skills

Compensation:
