Qualifications

  • 2+ years of hands-on experimental research experience in a relevant field.

Responsibilities

  • Design and execute experiments to develop manufacturing processes that meet engineering specifications.
  • Develop IP enabling novel transistor and interconnect architectures with module partners.
  • Work with equipment suppliers to modify hardware and implement preventative maintenance for stable lines.
  • Install and qualify High Volume Manufacturing capacity at the TD site during ramp to HVM volumes.
  • Transfer technology to other Intel factories via Copy Exactly training and audits.

Intel Foundry Technology and Development (TD) team

Intel Foundry Technology and Development (TD) team is looking for an engineer for the Lithography team. TD Lithography Module Engineers are responsible for the development and execution of current and next generation Lithography manufacturing processes. They enable manufacture of innovative device architectures, demonstrate manufacturing viability of complex novel processes, and execute the high-volume lines that manufacture revenue product. In this role job responsibilities will include but will not be limited to:

  • Design and execute experiments and analyze data necessary to develop processes that meet engineering specifications for manufacturing that include safety protocols, automation, facility and supply chain in addition to device performance and yield.
  • Participate in development of intellectual property that enables novel transistor and interconnect architecture, working with integrated module partners to create and realize novel process flows.
  • Lithography engineers work with industry partners and equipment suppliers to develop and implement equipment, identify equipment capability shortcomings, propose and evaluate hardware modification to mitigate issues, and implement preventative maintenance needed for stable process lines.
  • Install and qualify High Volume Manufacturing (HVM) capacity at the TD site during insitu ramp to HVM volumes and operate the manufacturing line in the manufacturing of revenue product.
  • Participate in the transfer of technology to other Intel factories via the Copy Exactly methodology through training and audit of installation/qualification to ensure matched processing across sites.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in Chemistry, Physics, Materials Science & Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, or a related scientific/engineering discipline. (Must currently hold a PhD or anticipate graduation/completion within 12 months of application).
  • 2+ years of hands‑on experimental research experience (e.g., doctoral thesis research, laboratory instrumentation, advanced material characterization, optics, plasma, or thin‑film processing).

Preferred Qualifications (A Plus, not a Requirement):

  • Hands‑on experience with equipment/instrumentation design, vacuum/optical systems, precision tooling, or experimental hardware troubleshooting.
  • Practical knowledge of applying Python, C#, or ML/AI frameworks to scientific computing, automated data acquisition, or process optimization.
  • Proven track record of scientific problem‑solving demonstrated through publications, presentations, or patents.

Annual Salary Range for jobs which could be performed in the US: $133,800.00-188,890.00 USD The range displayed on this job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific compensation range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Work Model for this Role

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on‑site at their assigned Intel site and off‑site.
