About the Company: The Integrity Engineer (IE) will ensure United States (US) and Canadian (CA) regulatory compliance of our Integrity Management Plan (IMP) for 170 miles of crude oil pipeline and associated storage tanks and terminals.

About the Role: Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities

  • Implement the IMP and supporting standards and procedures for CA and US pipelines and terminals
  • Provide engineering support of IMP-related activities such as system in-line inspection, cathodic protection, inspection digs, and integrity-issue mitigation activities and general system improvements
  • Oversee integrity management-related contracted services
  • Provide project management (PM) support for integrity-related projects
  • Utilize established change-management procedures for change approval, prioritization, and execution
  • Complete the annual IMP performance report and distribute and present it as needed
  • Participate in IMP-related governmental audits
  • Maintain currency on pipeline regulations, industry standards and best practices, integrity assessment methods, and pipeline repair methods by attending conferences, working groups, and seminars
  • Miscellaneous support as needed

Qualifications: Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil or mechanical engineering from an accredited college or university
  • Cathodic protection NACE CP1 certification (or attain certification within six months of hiring)
  • US passport (or ability to acquire one)

  • Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and sound understanding of mechanical system principals
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex problems, interpret operational needs and technical requirements, and manage systems and processes to develop integrated, creative solutions to issues impacting system integrity, reliability, and/or compliance
  • Demonstrated PM abilities used to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Demonstrated computer skills (e.g. spreadsheets, databases, presentations, instructions and procedural documents, process flow diagrams)
  • Familiarity with ASME, API, ASTM, NACE, CSA, PHMSA, CSA, and DOT standards and guidelines

Preferred Skills: Preferred Education and Experience

  • ≥5 years’ experience in pipeline and/or facility design, construction, and operation
  • ≥5 years’ experience in pipeline integrity management and repair practices
  • Demonstrated knowledge and practice of ASME B31.4, CSA Z662, and applicable ASME standards for pipeline design, construction, operation, integrity management, and risk analysis

Pay range and compensation package: While daily activities are based out of an office environment, expect regular travel to various locations, including cross-border travel to CA, to support key duties and responsibilities. Projects may require extended periods at the construction location. Normal work hours are Monday – Friday, 7 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Expect periods requiring more than 40 work hours/week. Off-shift and weekend work are possible but not typical.

Expect regular exposure to construction areas and activities. Field activities will require appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to established safety procedures.
