Job summary

Progressive / SThree Group in Los Angeles, CA seeks an experienced engineer for advanced Fitness-for-Service evaluations and pipeline integrity assessments. The role focuses on corrosion, dents and crack feature analysis in line with API-579, CorLAS, and related standards.

The candidate will apply ILI and Direct Assessment methods, interpret assessment data for repair decisions, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure structural safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in Fitness-for-Service evaluations for corrosion, dents and crack features.
• Advanced knowledge of ILI and Direct Assessment (DA), Nondestructive Evaluation (NDE) methods/practices and pipeline repair.
• Detail-oriented with strong attention to accuracy and documentation.
• Good relationship building and communication skills with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Conduct Fitness-for-Service evaluations in accordance with API-579 and related standards.
• Apply ILI and Direct Assessment methods to assess pipeline integrity and determine repair/mitigation actions.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, and QA teams to ensure safe, compliant design and operation.
• Prepare clear technical reports documenting methodology, findings, and recommended actions.

Job description

• 1) Demonstrated experience in Fitness-for-Service evaluations for corrosion, dents and crack features. (e.g. API-579, CorLAS, RSTRENG, MAT-8, etc.)
• (2) Advanced knowledge of ILI and Direct Assessment (DA), Nondestructive Evaluation (NDE) methods/practices and pipeline repair. Includes evaluation and decisions based from assessment data.
• (3) Detail-oriented
• (4) Good relationship building and communication skills
• -BS in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical or Civil Engineering Required. NACE CP1 Certification highly desired.
• -Supplier to provide equipment- laptop and monitor
