Job summary

Integrative Pet Care in Chicago seeks a Rehabilitation Therapist to aid animals in recovery. You will work with veterinarians to apply targeted therapies, including hydrotherapy, lasers, and ultrasound, to improve mobility and well-being.

This role emphasizes hands-on care and collaboration with clients and veterinary staff. Ideal candidates have at least two years of veterinary experience, strong communication skills, and a passion for animal rehabilitation.

Qualifications

• Two years veterinary experience and client communication skills.
• Licensed or Certified Veterinary Technician preferred.
• Certification in veterinary rehabilitation or pursuing certification sponsored by VROMP.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute individualized therapy plans in coordination with veterinarians.
• Perform underwater treadmill, laser therapy, ultrasound, and therapeutic exercises.
• Provide client education on home exercise programs and assistive devices.
• Maintain accurate patient records and track progress.
• Ensure a safe environment by following procedures and safety protocols.
• Contribute to practice meetings and training of other team members.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute individualized therapy plans in coordination with veterinarians.
• Perform various treatment modalities, including underwater treadmill, laser therapy, ultrasound, and therapeutic exercises.

Skills and Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of veterinary experience, including patient care and client communication.
• Licensed or Certified Veterinary Technician preferred.
• Certification in veterinary rehabilitation (CCRP, CCRA, CCRVN, VMRT, CRPM, CCRT or related) preferred, or an interest in pursuing certification sponsored by VROMP.
• Strong computer skills and experience with practice management software.
• Ability to assess patient behavior and recognize signs of illness or stress.
• Familiarity with therapeutic modalities and rehabilitation techniques.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Team-oriented, with a positive and collaborative attitude.
• Adaptability to evolving client and patient needs.
