Job summary

Amazon Leo is seeking technicians in Washington State to help with full-scale production of satellites. The role focuses on assembling and testing LRUs, avionics, and electro-mechanical assemblies while adhering to safety and process improvements.

You will manage inventory, follow SOPs, and ensure calibration of lab equipment in a fast-paced aerospace environment. The position requires high school or equivalent, 1+ years in high-traceability manufacturing, and experience with hand tools,

Qualifications

  • High school or equivalent diploma.
  • 1+ years in a high traceability manufacturing environment.
  • 1+ years using hand tools and/or precision measuring instruments (i.e., Calipers, multi-meters, torque wrenches).
  • 1+ years working with test tools and test methods that adequately validate the system.
  • Experience reading, interpreting and working from engineering documentation and/or drawings.

Responsibilities

  • Follow work instructions and safety procedures.
  • Assemble and test with emphasis to detail, an assortment of LRUs, electrical-mechanical assemblies, avionics, or other complex aerospace builds.
  • Participate in process improvements, maintain floor stock inventory.
  • Independently execute and prioritize work to meet company deliverables.
  • Execute test procedures for component and system level testing maintenance.
  • Champion safety requirements in all designated zones and work locations.
  • Ensure lab equipment is maintained and calibrated.
  • Supports some preventative maintenance activities on test equipment and data acquisition systems.
  • Receive shipments and coordinate deliveries with recipients.
  • Your work may include contributing to improving SOPs and safety procedures.

Key Job Responsibilities

Additional Requirements
  • Willing to work all shifts, overtime and weekends as needed. Estimated shift time: Sun-Wed 6am-4:30pm
  • Standing for long periods of time, climbing up and down ladders, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, and stretching may be required to perform the functions of this position
  • Able to lift-up to 25lbs. unassisted

Starting Pay and Benefits

The starting pay for this role in Washington State is up to $33.50/hour and employees are eligible for incremental raises based on tenure. A full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits are provided. This information is provided per the Washington State Pay Transparency Act. Base pay information is based on market location. The starting pay for this position is listed below, including the base pay rate plus the highest available shift differential which applies depending on the shift you select. As a total compensation company, additional earnings may include shift differentials and overtime pay. Final pay will be based on factors including shift selection and location. Basic Qualifications
  • High school or equivalent diploma
  • 1+ years in a high traceability manufacturing environment, or relevant trade school certification
  • 1+ years using hand tools and/or precision measuring instruments (i.e., Calipers, multi-meters, torque wrenches)
  • 1+ years working with test tools and test methods that adequately validate the system
  • Experience reading, interpreting and working from engineering documentation and/or drawings
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with environmental testing - vibration, shock, thermal, EMI/EMC, etc.
  • Aircraft & Powerplant (A&P) certification/license
  • CFOT certification or equivalent experience
  • Airman or Avionic certification or equivalent experience
  • ASE certification or equivalent experience
  • Experience in fast-paced production environment with flight hardware
  • Experience working with FOD, ESD sensitive hardware and clean room requirements
  • Experience working with Electro-Mechanical Assembly, Final Integration, Fiber Optics/Optical and/or Harness Integration
  • Ability to rapidly change roles/responsibilities while working in a high-paced, challenging work environment
