Job summary

SpaceX is seeking an Integration & Test Engineer for Starlink Aviation to own test software, equipment, and integrated testing of electrical and network systems for enterprise customers.

You will develop, validate, and maintain high-reliability test solutions, collaborating with electrical, mechanical, and software engineers to support flight hardware testing and diagnostics across mobility network applications.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering demonstrated.
  • Experience with integration and testing of propulsion, thermal, electrical, and/or structural systems.
  • Documentation and configuration management experience.
  • Experience writing test plans, procedures and go/no-go judgments.

Responsibilities

  • Design, activate and operate test hardware and equipment to evaluate performance for mobility network applications.
  • Troubleshoot hardware issues in real time and communicate fixes to owners.
  • Investigate non-conformances and drive test requirements for flight hardware and system design improvements.
  • Collaborate with electrical, mechanical and software engineers to develop test systems for Starlink hardware.
  • Create and modify software applications to run data acquisition and control systems.

INTEGRATION & TEST ENGINEER (STARLINK AVIATION)

As an Integration & Test Engineer supporting our enterprise aviation customers, you will be tasked with owning test software, test equipment, integrated testing of electrical and network systems, and will be a technical resource for fellow engineering, specialist and technician colleagues. You will be responsible for developing, validating and maintaining high-reliability, high-performing enterprise network solutions for Starlink.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Design, activate and operate test hardware and equipment including test software as needed to evaluate component and system performance for various mobility network applications
  • Troubleshoot hardware issues real-time, push feedback to correct owners to eliminate repeat issues
  • Aid in investigations and root-cause analysis of any non-conformances, and work with responsible engineers to develop test requirements for flight hardware, driving hardware and system design improvements.
  • Work with teams across disciplines including electrical, mechanical, and software engineers to conceptualize and develop test systems required to test Starlink hardware
  • Create and modify software applications to run data acquisition and control systems
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline
  • 1+ years of professional mechanical/electromechanical design, analysis, testing, and/or manufacturing (internships/co-ops and club projects can apply)
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Experience with integration and testing of propulsion, thermal, electrical, and/or structural systems
  • Experience working with composites and integration of avionics systems
  • Documentation and configuration management experience
  • Experience writing test plans, and procedures and providing go/no-go judgment and rationale
  • Experience in a production environment
  • Demonstrated engineering intuition, critical thinking, and comfort with ambiguity
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Some travel to our launch sites may be required as needed, up to 25%
  • Must be willing to work extended hours and/or weekends as needed
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

Pay Range:
Level 1: $100,000.00 - $117,500.00
Level 2: $115,000.00 - $140,000.00

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-line basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX. You may also be eligible for long-term incentives, in the form of company stock or long-term cash awards, as well as potential discretionary bonuses and the ability to purchase additional stock at a discount through an Employee Stock Purchase Plan. You may also accrue 3 weeks of paid vacation and will be eligible for 10 or more paid holidays per year.
