Job summary

Join CACI as an Integration Manager to lead a critical DoD project, delivering a walking skeleton reference architecture that connects real infrastructure components across the stack. You’ll work with government stakeholders and vendor partners to ensure the architecture is testable, secure by design, and extensible as the program grows.

You will guide technical integration across APIs, microservices, and enterprise applications while aligning with RMF, Zero Trust, and DoDAF artifacts.

Qualifications

  • U.S. citizenship and eligibility to obtain a DoD SECRET clearance or higher (active clearance preferred).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 12 years of experience in systems integration, enterprise architecture, or a related technical discipline, including experience in DoD or federal environments.
  • Demonstrated experience designing or implementing end-to-end reference architectures (e.g., walking skeleton, minimum viable architecture, or similar incremental-integration approaches).
  • Working knowledge of network transport technologies, specifically SD-LAN and SD-WAN design, deployment, or orchestration.
  • Experience integrating application services (APIs, microservices, or service-oriented architectures) with enterprise applications.
  • Working knowledge of cybersecurity principles and DoD security frameworks (RMF, NIST 800-53, Zero Trust, or equivalent).
  • Ability to produce and interpret architecture and integration documentation (system diagrams, ICDs, DoDAF/SysML artifacts, or similar).
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills; ability to translate technical detail for both engineering teams and government program leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Design and stand up a walking skeleton architecture framework: a thin, end-to-end slice of the full system that exercises every major architectural component (services, transport, applications, security) before feature depth is added.
  • Define the integration strategy and technical roadmap connecting backend/microservices, SD-LAN/SD-WAN transport layers, front-end and enterprise applications, and cybersecurity/RMF controls into one interoperable framework.
  • Serve as the PMP technical integration lead across Former NavalX and DTIC program teams, coordinating with software engineering, network engineering, cybersecurity (ISSO/ISSM), and infrastructure teams.
  • Develop and maintain system architecture diagrams, integration schedules, interface control documents (ICDs), and technical data packages.
  • Evaluate and select integration patterns (API gateways, service mesh, message brokers, SD-WAN orchestration) appropriate for a DoD/Navy enterprise environment.
  • Ensure the architecture aligns with applicable DoD and DoN policy, including RMF, Zero Trust reference architecture, and DoDAF artifacts as required.
  • Coordinate integration testing, environment stand-up, and phased rollout across development, test, and production environments.
  • Identify integration risks, dependencies, and technical debt; drive resolution with engineering leads and government stakeholders.
  • Support acquisition and program management activities: status reporting, technical reviews, milestone documentation, and stakeholder briefings.
  • Mentor junior engineers and integration staff on architecture standards and integration best practices.

Job description

Job Title: Integration Manager

Job Category: Information Technology

Time Type: Full time

Minimum Clearance Required to Start: Secret

Employee Type: Regular

Percentage of Travel Required: Up to 25%

Type of Travel: Continental US

The Opportunity:

Join a dynamic and high-performing team at CACI, where you’ll make a significant impact on military operations!

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Integration Manager to lead a critical project for the Department of Defense. This role offers the chance to work with cutting-edge technologies and a broad array of talent dedicated to advancing digital transformation initiatives.

As an Integration Manager, you will support a Navy DDIL contract and the Defense Technical Information Center (DTIC) in the design and delivery of a “walking skeleton” reference architecture — a minimal, end-to-end implementation that connects real infrastructure components across the technology stack early in the program, then is incrementally built out. This role owns the technical integration strategy that ties together application services, network transport (SD-LAN/SD-WAN), enterprise applications, and cybersecurity controls into a single, coherent, deployable framework.

The Integration Manager will work directly with government stakeholders, technical leads, and vendor partners to ensure the architecture is testable, secure by design, and extensible as the program matures.

Your expertise in systems integration, cyber security, enterprise architecture, and DoD environments, will drive the technical roadmap, mentor junior engineers, and ensure alignment with DoD policy and frameworks. This is your chance to make a significant impact and be part of a dynamic, high-performing team dedicated to advancing national security through innovation.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and stand up a “walking skeleton” architecture framework: a thin, end-to-end slice of the full system that exercises every major architectural component (services, transport, applications, security) before feature depth is added.
  • Define the integration strategy and technical roadmap connecting backend/microservices, SD-LAN/SD-WAN transport layers, front-end and enterprise applications, and cybersecurity/RMF controls into one interoperable framework. Must be a Certified CISO to ensure that all facets of program efforts align.
  • Serve as the PMP technical integration lead across Former NavalX and DTIC program teams, coordinating with software engineering, network engineering, cybersecurity (ISSO/ISSM), and infrastructure teams.
  • Develop and maintain system architecture diagrams, integration schedules, interface control documents (ICDs), and technical data packages.
  • Evaluate and select integration patterns (API gateways, service mesh, message brokers, SD-WAN orchestration) appropriate for a DoD/Navy enterprise environment.
  • Ensure the architecture aligns with applicable DoD and DoN policy, including the Risk Management Framework (RMF), Zero Trust reference architecture, and DoDAF artifacts as required.
  • Coordinate integration testing, environment stand-up, and phased rollout across development, test, and production environments.
  • Identify integration risks, dependencies, and technical debt; drive resolution with engineering leads and government stakeholders.
  • Support acquisition and program management activities: status reporting, technical reviews, milestone documentation, and stakeholder briefings.
  • Mentor junior engineers and integration staff on architecture standards and integration best practices.
Qualifications:

  • Prior direct support to a Former NavalX, DTIC, a PEO, SYSCOM, or another Navy/DoD innovation or acquisition organization.
  • Certifications aligned to DoD 8570/8140 (Security+, CISSP), TOGAF, or vendor SD-WAN/network certifications.
  • Must be a PMP and Certified CISO.
  • Experience with cloud and hybrid-cloud integration (AWS/Azure GovCloud, DoD cARMY/cVCE, or similar).
  • Familiarity with Agile/DevSecOps delivery models and CI/CD pipeline integration.
  • Active DoD Top Secret or ability to obtain.
