Job summary

VARITE INC. is seeking an Integration Engineer III for a remote, 12-month engagement in the United States. The role focuses on connecting Workday and Ariba with internal and external systems using modern integration practices and Workday Extend.

You'll drive the transition toward SAP Ariba BTP, strengthening Ariba integration capabilities while guiding API management and Cloud Connector adoption in a mature ERP setting. Strong, hands-on integration design skills are required.

Qualifications

• Expertise in web service/API technologies: WSDL, SOAP, REST, XML, JSON, XSLT.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (Java, Python, Groovy).
• Experience with integration design and development for cloud platforms.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain integrations between Workday/Ariba and external systems.
• Develop and maintain custom Workday Extend applications.
• Support integrations across Workday HCM, Payroll, Financials, and SAP Ariba.
• Build and optimize Ariba master and transactional data integrations.
• Collaborate with IT teams to deploy and monitor integrations.

Qualifications:

The ERP Platform Developer plays a critical role in advancing this platform by designing, building, and maintaining integrations and custom applications that connect Workday and Ariba with internal and external systems. This position emphasizes modern integration practices using Workday Studio, Connectors, EIBs, Web Services, and Orchestrate, alongside custom app development in Workday Extend.

In addition, the role will contribute to the early-stage transition to SAP Ariba’s Business Technology Platform (BTP), helping strengthen our Ariba integration capacity and guiding adoption of new capabilities such as Cloud Integration, API Management, Event Mesh, and Open Connectors. This is a unique opportunity to work in a mature ERP environment while also shaping the next phase of innovation and platform evolution.

• Expertise in web service/API technologies: WSDL, SOAP, REST, XML, JSON, XSLT


• Proficiency in at least one programming language (Java, Python, Groovy, etc.)


• Experience with integration design and development for Cloud-based platforms


• 3-5 years of Workday integration development experience and/or 3-5 years of Ariba integration development experience


• Experience building Workday integrations using Studio, Cloud Connector, EIBs, Web Services (REST/SOAP) and Orchestration for Integrations


• Experience utilizing Ariba REST APIs, ITK, and Configuration Management


• Hands-on experience with both master and transactional data integrations


• Strong background in monitoring, alerting, and error handling for integrations


• Ability to work and coordinate with third parties on data-related inquiries


• Well-versed in Agile development methodologies including Kanban/Scrum
