Job summary

New York Technology Partners in Knoxville, TN is seeking an experienced Integration Engineer to design, build, test, and support API-led integration solutions across cloud and enterprise environments.

You will collaborate with client stakeholders, architects, and engineering teams to implement microservices-based patterns, REST APIs, and event-driven architectures using AWS, Java/Spring Boot, Node.js, and API gateways. Strong testing, CI/CD, and monitoring practices are required.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience designing and implementing integration solutions using microservices architecture and API-led patterns.
• AWS experience including building or deploying cloud-based integration solutions.
• API gateway design, config, security, and support in enterprise environments.
• REST-based service design and implementation with Java/Spring Boot and/or Node.js.
• Java proficiency to build and troubleshoot integration components.
• Experience with integration patterns, service orchestration, API security, logging, and resiliency.

Your Impact

Business

• Understand client business domains and map business needs to API-based digital transformation opportunities
• Participate in discovery sessions to understand current-state challenges and solution options
• Provide practical integration solutions that are scalable, cost-effective, and easy to develop and operate
• Support architecture, provisioning, production readiness, estimation, and planning activities
• Contribute technical input to RFPs, solution proposals, and account planning as needed
• Design, implement, build, test, deploy, and support integration solutions across cloud and enterprise environments
• Build reusable templates, boilerplate code, and accelerators to enable faster delivery and predictable quality
• Define and apply integration engineering best practices, including performance testing, platform configuration, automation, monitoring, and troubleshooting
• Partner with architects and delivery teams to ensure integration solutions align with enterprise standards and client outcomes
• Support technology exploration and contribute to engineering knowledge-sharing through documentation, examples, and reusable patterns

Your Skills & Experience

Must-Have Skills

• Hands-on experience designing and implementing integration solutions using microservices architecture and API-led patterns
• AWS experience, including practical experience building, deploying, or supporting cloud-based integration solutions
• API gateway experience, including designing, configuring, securing, and supporting APIs through an enterprise API gateway
• Experience with REST-based service design and implementation, preferably using Java/Spring Boot and/or Node.js
• Hands-on Java experience sufficient to build, deploy, troubleshoot, and support Java-based integration components
• Experience with integration patterns, service orchestration, API security, error handling, logging, and resiliency practices
• Ability to collaborate with client stakeholders, architects, product teams, and engineering teams in a delivery environment

Must-Have Development Lifecycle Skills

• Unit testing and integration testing
• CI/CD and DevOps practices; Terraform or infrastructure-as-code experience is a plus
• Monitoring, troubleshooting, and production support for integration platforms and APIs
• Automation mindset with the ability to improve repeatability, quality, and operational efficiency

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience implementing integration patterns using MuleSoft or similar integration platforms
• Event-driven architecture experience using Kafka, MQ, or similar technologies
• Experience with AWS-native integration services and cloud integration tooling
• Experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB or Cassandra
• Experience with relational databases such as Db2, Oracle, or MySQL
