Job summary

AbbVie is seeking an early-career Integration Engineer to help build and support system-to-system integrations and APIs on AWS within the Global Therapeutic Platforms Architecture & Platforms group. You will collaborate with senior engineers and business stakeholders, starting with well-scoped tasks and growing ownership over time.

You will work with AI coding agents like Claude Code or Codex to accelerate development, testing, and documentation, while adhering to team standards for code reviews

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Information Systems.
• Internship, co-op, or substantial project experience building software.
• Proficiency in at least one language such as Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, or Java.
• Hands-on experience using AI coding agents (Claude Code, Codex, or similar) to build working software and explain how you checked output.
• Working knowledge of Git and a basic understanding of APIs and event-driven architecture.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills, and a willingness to learn quickly.
• Initiative and ownership to pick up work proactively and keep others informed.

Responsibilities

• Use AI coding agents day-to-day, following team standards for reviewing AI-generated code.
• Help monitor and troubleshoot integrations in production.
• Communicate status, raise blockers early, and document your work.
• Follow cybersecurity, change control, and SDLC policies.

Global Therapeutic Platforms (GTP) Architecture & Platforms (A&P) builds the shared integration, API, data, and AI platforms that GTP teams use across the R&D lifecycle, including clinical, safety, and regulatory workflows.

We are seeking an early-career Integration Engineer to help build and support system-to-system integrations and APIs on AWS. You will work with senior engineers and business stakeholders, start with well-scoped tasks, and take on more ownership as you grow. AI coding agents such as Claude Code or Codex are a core part of how we build, test, and document software.

Responsibilities

• Gather and clarify requirements with business and technical stakeholders.

Preferred:

• Exposure to AWS, Terraform, or CI/CD pipelines such as GitHub Actions.
• Familiarity with REST/OpenAPIor SQL databases.
• AWS certification or interest in pursuing one.
