Job summary

Truman Medical Centers is seeking an experienced Integration Architect to design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable interoperability solutions across clinical and business systems. The role focuses on reliable data exchange and standardization of EHR and ancillary systems.

You will collaborate with data owners, support interface initiatives, and contribute to ongoing data governance and security in a complex healthcare environment. This is a full-time, on-site position in Kansas City, MO.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent interface experience.
• Experience in IT roles such as Interface Analyst, Programmer/Analyst, Database Administrator, or related position.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of healthcare systems and information technology security.
• Ability to develop, monitor, and adjust implementation methodologies to ensure best practices and project management standards are followed.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement enterprise integration solutions across clinical and non-clinical systems.
• Support interface development and data quality initiatives and reliable information exchange.
• Ensure integration solutions meet clinical and operational needs and support EHR and business system integration.
• Identify integration requirements and apply standardized methodologies for evaluating, documenting, and implementing changes.
• Implement and maintain information exchange initiatives and integration products supporting organizational priorities.
• Promote data integrity across enterprise applications and integrated systems.
• Maintain CMDB entries and create detailed interoperability documentation.
• Provide on-call production support and troubleshoot integration issues.
• Collaborate with data owners to understand data relationships and resolve root causes.

Job Description

As an Integration Architect, you’ll play an important role in designing, implementing, and maintaining secure, scalable, and reliable interoperability solutions across clinical, operational, business, and external partner systems. You’ll help ensure that critical information moves accurately and efficiently across the organization while supporting the standardization and integration of our electronic health record and business systems. This is an opportunity for an experienced IT professional who enjoys solving complex problems, understanding how data moves across systems, and partnering with teams to turn technology and data challenges into effective solutions.

What You’ll Do

• Contribute to the design, development, and implementation of enterprise integration and interface solutions across clinical and non-clinical systems.


• Support interface development and initiatives focused on data quality, integrity, and reliable information exchange.


• Ensure integration and interface solutions meet clinical and operational needs while supporting system-wide EHR and business system integration and standardization.


• Identify integration requirements and apply standardized methodologies for evaluating, documenting, tracking, and implementing changes across disparate systems and usage models.


• Implement and maintain information exchange initiatives and integration products that support organizational strategic priorities.


• Promote and maintain data integrity across enterprise applications and integrated systems.


• Maintain accurate and current information for supported applications within the Configuration Management Database (CMDB).


• Create and maintain system documentation, technical specifications, and detailed interoperability program documentation.


• Participate in on-call production support and assist with troubleshooting and resolution of integration-related issues.


• Collaborate with data owners and stewards to understand data relationships and uses, identify root causes of data issues, and contribute to effective solutions.


• Participate in professional development, cross-training, and knowledge-sharing activities.


• Promote quality improvement, patient and staff safety, and a culture of respect and inclusion through daily work and professional interactions.


• Maintain knowledge of applicable regulations, guidelines, standards, and organizational compliance requirements.

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Healthcare Administration, or a related field and/or relevant system interface experience.


• Experience in an information technology role such as Interface Analyst, Programmer/Analyst, Database Administrator, or a related position.


• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and effectively.


• Knowledge of healthcare systems and information technology security.


• Ability to develop, monitor, and adjust implementation methodologies to ensure best practices and project management standards are followed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience developing interfaces using interface engines, particularly Open Engine, with knowledge of current HL7 releases and other EDI standards.


• Strong understanding of relational database management systems, data architecture, and data modeling.


• Ability to understand and communicate the complex relationships between data sources and their ultimate uses, including reporting, decision‑making, and regulatory compliance.


• Understanding of data quality principles and the impact that technology, processes, and organizational structure can have on data quality.


• Healthcare integration experience involving systems such as EHR, LIS, RIS, PACS, and payer systems.


• Experience working with cloud-based integration platforms.


• Knowledge of data governance principles and enterprise architecture frameworks.
